Spiritual Significance of Menstruation šŸ©øšŸŒ¹ā¤ļø

Each menstruation is a shedding; a release of the previous cycle - physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and energetically.

When i've had a busy month teaching - she is more intense - physically heavier and painful due to working my physical body more. I also experienced grief and loss throughout the cycle so there was lot's of tears and sadness released.

When i've been through deep healing; losing people, ancestral patterns being recognised and ended, breaking patterns, taking my my families struggles & grief through Atisha meditations etc - she is more intense.

Whatever you have healed and released during the cycle prior is allll removed during menstruation. This is the magic of our beautiful bodies as women. The power of the womb!

This is why it's important in menstruation to rest as much as you can and surrender to the stillness as much as you can. When we are still and silent we allow the truth, and any messages/insights/wisdom from our experiences to flow through - also known as "integration".

We allow ourselves to integrate all of the lessons from the previous cycle so we can head into the new cycle - our follicular phase - inner spring - fresh and prepared for any new lessons and experiences without carrying baggage with us.

I noticed a pattern, when i wasn't able to honour my day 1 & 2 moon cycle due to busy work commitments, i wouldn't feel as energised and focused during my follicular phase, but also, i would get sick during ovulation! (being sick in ovulation always feel like a sick joke!)

Now, the beauty of being connected to your womb (like anything in life) when you respect and honour her, she will respect and honour you right back.

During my most recent Luteal Phase, i connected with my womb and asked her to arrive with my bleed on my day/s off so i could fully rest and honour her.

& just like magic... she arrived on Monday! My day off! (even though she wasn't due until the back end of the week, which was busy with work!) I also only have 1 x class on a Tuesday at 8pm so i had nearly 2 full days to fully honour her arrival & departure!

& honour her i most definately did! I was able to purely rest and sit in stillnesss. It has been a busy month but also alot of personal stuff going on. All my body needed for this cycle was pure rest. Lots of stillness, silence and sleep. It was a very heavy and painful release, lots of grief and sadness, lots of tears. My own and my familys (love to Lebanon).

Our menstruation is a deeply sacred and powerful time and when you honour and appreciate her instead of seeing her as a burden she will work WITH you.

When i am able to fully honour this time it is my favourite part of the cycle. Fully honouring my feminine in her messy and raw and unfiltered ways. In a (masochist here, surprise!) way there's nothing i love more than rolling on the bed screaming in pain when my womb is being torn apart and i all i can do is surrender.

Stay tuned for the next blog post where i will be talking more about our sacred blood, her power and ways we can utlilise her.

Sending lots of love. I hope you learned something & this makes you view your next cycle as a blessing and a deeply scared time to connect with your feminine self xxx
